This week we have been learning how to use a dictionary. We have realized that to use a dictionary you have to be a good reader and have strong alphabet knowledge. We worked together to find the definitions of interesting words that came from the story we are reading, MATILDA.
Thousands of Monarch butterflies arrived in this cedar tree in late April 2011. They were still there three weeks later so it appears they might be staying for the winter. On sunny days they spend some time feeding on the many nearby flowers, but on rainy days they tend to huddle together in large clusters high up in the tree.
We have been spending time with our buddy class (room 12). Mr McKay has taught us how to speed stack. We have had a great time learning to stack the cups quickly!
